Good luck, but I doubt you will need it. I just did this upgrade (I wanted to repartition so I actually did a complete reinstall using Microsoft's Easy Transfer utility to migrate data) last night and it was pretty smooth sailing. No compatibility issues and Windows 7 just went out there to pull all the required drivers for you. I ran some Vista 64 bit drivers just for kicks, but it wasn't necessary. Such as the touchpad driver, just so I could have the flexibility of the Alps/Dell features. I thought I wouldn't be able to get the fingerprint reader to work, but with the help of people here I was able to activate it without any problems. Amazingly happy with this version of Windows.

If you were installing Linux, I’d wish you luck. Windows 7 is quite polished so I expect you’ll be fine.

he he it worked slick, i only needed to install my fingerprint driver, and it covered the rest. W7 is amazing, now to try out xp mode....

i guess the biometric devices are so different and unique to their manufacturer so they become the problem child for W7 but mine is up and running now
