I received a win 7 upgrade from my acer 1410 netbook. however I do not have an external dvd drive and do not want to buy one. Is it possible /legal to install this upgrade on my regular labtop which has dvd drive or is the upgrade tied to a specific machine.

if not allowed to install on another vista pc , how can one install it without buying a drive.

I would much prefer this upgrade on my labtop if possible over the netbook as I use it much more

I have the 1410 with Win 7 64 bit... You need to put your copy of 7 on the 1410, you owe it to yourself. If you have a jump drive then Google win 7 install from a USB drive and do it that way. Only issue I have had is finding a mail client as Win 7 comes without.

It is not "legal" to use the upgrade on another machine. The EULA you agreed to when ordering/accepting the upgrade indicated that it was for that original machine (that came with some form of Vista I'm assuming).
