That is lame. I've never seen that before. Did you try it again?

How far away are the machines? Have you tried deleting the other computer from your Bluetooth connections and re-discovering it?

You could try updating the Bluetooth drivers on both machines. What else is running in the background on either machine? Is one of the computers falling asleep and dropping the connection?

The answers to those questions should help narrow the issue a bit.

Also might want to check RAM utilization. Have you sent files this large before?

Are you certain this error is referring to resources on YOUR machine? It might be a disk space issue on the receiving machine.

My Bluetooth module`s speed is ~100KB.
You have a lot of patience. My guess is that you have run out of RAM or disk space(?!),since the CPU and GPU don`t run out :D
One thing to check : open task manager, and try again and see if anything unusual happens.

    - i tried again... and no matter how many times it's the same even with different same size files.
    - the machines are both in a transferable range as i can transfer small files
    - ram utilization i'm at 50% ram used from the vista side gadget display
    - disk space on the receiving laptop is more than enough
    - i've already transfered larger files than 500mb. but now it's not working anymore..

    any more ideas  :(

Re-install Bluetooth drivers on both machines. Upgrade if possible.
