If you're a student, you can usually buy some quality software for a greatly discounted price through your university.
-
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
no I don't think it's legit. that software is ~$600 retail.

but thanx for the tip
anywhere online that allows students to buy it cheaper? -
Many software vendors (such as Adobe) offer student discounts, but they lower extortionate prices to slightly less extortionate prices.

Check out the first and second links. Stay away.
JourneyEd.com has it for $400 though. (JourneyEd is a legitimate student discount site.)

thanx for the links, anywhere in UK that sells them?

Go to the software maker's website and see if they have any links to authorized educational dealers in the UK.

great i was enoying using the software, now its going crazy - one minute it will allow me to use the program and the next minute its saying i need to recover the serial and then 10 minutes later its fine again
i had a look on there site, i found a place that sells it,but at a price £250+ for the student version and over £300 for the commerial version whats the difference between them? -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Usually the price and the license agreement are the differences. You cannot use it commercially, It is for education purposes only. Also, sometimes an educational copy of software will not allow you to upgrade to the next version (non-educational).

what does "you cannot use it commerically" mean exactly?

so for example:
if i were working for a company and made a model for say a game, that would be against the law? as i would be getting paid to create the models that would be used in the game, well thats just great... -
