This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     is there any program or os to be able to watch movies or listen to music without booting to xp? beside dell media direct

    Any live Linux distro, DSL as pointed out.
    There's also Feather, Xubuntu (probably too slow) and Puppy linux.

    which consumes lowest power? i need this because i travel a lot and i need my laptop to be on a long time.

    or how can i watch movies and don't discharge battery for other things.

    For lowest power consumption try running DSL/Feather linux off a flash drive.
