so i'm totally fed up w/ itunes and want to convert all of my songs into regular mp3s. I have a combination of older mp3s, purchased DRM aac files and purchased non DRM aac files...
when i do a google search i find a TON of software options... most of which are not free. at this point, I do NOT care if it is not free... ie. i'm willing to pay for good software.
what are my best options? also, I have some files where itunes converted the mp3 names to gibberish (ex. the file name is SDCF), even though it has id3 tags. itunes cannot rename the files based on the id3 tags for some reason.
im looking for software that would solve all of these issues (esp converting drm aac files into universal mp3s). any advice would be greatly appreciated... thanx!

Do you know that you can go to the iTunes store and purchase new versions of your existing songs that are DRM-free? I did it on all of my songs. It cost me about $35 if I remember correctly, and all but a few songs were converted (the ones that aren't in their library anymore can't be converted). Once they are DRM-free, you can use iTunes to convert them to MP3s.

Burn all the DRM tracks to a CDs, then rip said CDs into the file type of your choice.
