Try opening the movies in QuickTime.

All the time - or just at the beginning for a few seconds?

its all the time and it puts off the sound to the visuals so it looks like a badly pirated version. lol but i know for damn sure that my hardware is good enough for it.

Sorry to say that iTunes and Vista doesn't play together well. Mine doesn't install at all. I use Quicktime Alternative to play Quicktime. Is these an example of Gates vs Jobs?

Try upgrading to the newest iTunes (7.2) my videos don't stutter in it like they did the previous versions. If that doesn't work you can always try opening the videos in Quicktime, my videos never stuttered in that like they did in iTunes.

I am using iTunes 7.2 - don't use it to play videos though - well Quicktime runs fine but iTunes is a bit buggy at times.

Video clips and not just music? This is quite new to me. My problem all but disappeared after Dell sent me that free Sigma High definition codec thing for my Vostro 1400.

    *shrugs*

If you go Edit -> Preferences -> Playback tab, change "Play Music and TV Shows" and "Play Music Videos" to "full screen" and then they will run smoothly.

I am having the same problem you are with choppy video playback. My processor is at 100% and it is doing less than 1 FPS. That is only in windowed mode and I have no idea why.
