This is a very simple program, but I seem to notice performance improvement using this program...another open source program I was using is UltraDefrag but I've switched to jkDefrag because of 'perceived' results.

Does anyone else use this or have comments opinions etc?

I use it and I think it is a good defragmenter.

Never heard of it. How does it compare to Auslogics' DiskDefrag?

I just tried it last week and I was amazed at how much faster my HDD runs (compared to Microsoft's Defragmenter and Piriform's Defraggler).

I defragmented my HDD then ran JKDefrag right after and surprisingly it found more fragmented files...

BTW, for better results, run it in Safe Mode. Takes a little bit longer but I've noticed a little decrease in loading times.. :) :) :)

imo, i think defragging is overrated. Ive used O&O, PD, DK at various different times throughout the year and ive never noticed any increase in performane. And yes i do install, uninstall a lot of programs frequently. On the other hand, i know people who swear by defragging, so i dont know.

Ignore this rant if you want. :p

    +1

I also like how you can set it to run when your screen saver starts up also.

I guess my perceived improvements from jkDefrag are real then :) I'll try it in Safe Mode too, didn't know about that.

Decided to switch. So far, I haven't noticed a difference in speed after defraging in safe mode.

You guys use any of the 'Contributed by other people' GUIs? I find them somewhat useful... scroll to bottom of this page to find them.
