    how do i get to the setting that allows me to have aero turn on when it is plugged in and turned off as soon as i disconnect the ac power i cant seem to remember where that setting is.

    I don't think Windows itself does that, the most I've seen it do is turn off transparency. You'd have to get a program to do it for you (I use BatteryCare).
