this is really starting to tick me off. i recently deleted the ASUS power plans from my laptop (which is an ASUS G71GX). i did that because i would select the one that was labeled recommended (usually balanced) but it would just change back to ASUS standard with no warning. just today i see that ASUS power saver is "back from the dead" after i got a message from deleting the plan that it was impossible for the deleted plan to be restored.

i created a power plan call "Better than ASUS" saved that and have been using it. how can i keep ASUS power plans from coming back for good? i am using windows 7 btw.

Maybe open regedit and delete it from there. Not sure if it will come back again.

I would just open regedit and hit CTRL + F and search for the name of the powerplan. Then delete it.
