i was wondering, would the notebooks available today be able to use longhorn in the future? i think i read somewhere that the requirements for longhorn would be a dx9 videocard. if so, how about us people who've got intel extreme grafix 2 or some other card with no dx9 capabilities? that'd suck if i wouldn't be able to keep up with the latest OS out there... comments anyone?

The soonest Longhorn will hit the streets is 2006. But even this date was pushed back from late 2004, to 2005, then to 2006.

It is an extremely ambitious project from Microsoft, and will most likely end the Mac OS envy that us Windows users experience now.

Arent there developmental builds that have be leaked online that people have been downloading?. I remember about six months ago I followed some links in a news article about longhorn and found a page where you could download it. Im not experienced with installing operating systems, so I ignored it. Plus it would have been illegal.
