    laptop sound problem

    hi everybody! i have a problem with my hp ze1250 laptop with windows xp. the sound keeps breaking up everytime i play dvd. same with music cd but not as bad as dvd. but when i use online radio or any music from the internet it's ok. is there anything i can do to fix it?

    go into the sound properties and check "disable sounds enhancers." i had the same problem with my inspiron 1420 laptop and this worked fine.

    Have you tried using a different media player than the one you are using to play them?

    Go to Device Manager > IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers > Secondary IDE Channel > Properties > Advanced Settings.
    Check the current transfer mode of the DVD ROM (usually Device 0). It should say Ultra DMA Mode X, if it says PIO then that is your problem. Right click on the Secondary IDE Channel and Uninstall, then refresh (F5), or restart the PC.
