I post here to share potentially good news that the 13.1 amd catalyst general drivers (not notebook/mobility) should allow installation on all laptops. I had no problem to install now on my hp 6930p (HD3450) and till today the latest working driver I could find was a modded one 10.2 (and the HP's was like 3 years old!). Same on other forum user's toshiba and my GF's FS amilo that never had an official XP driver.

This is important to all people who had an ATI mobility card and the only official available drivers from note book manufacturer's were usually outdated

Can you people confirm this it works for you whereas it wasn't possible before?
    Choose the driver from here:

HD3650? are you sure? AMD has dropped legacy card support (HD4000 and earlier) from their drivers a long time ago. Catalyst might tell you that its installation was successful, but that doesn't mean much...could be that the kernel-mode and user-mode drivers are not updated and only the CCC is updated (or a similar scenario).

Well I think so. You tell me: the driver revision is 8.97.100.7-121116a-152798C-ATI
    ccc is 13.1
From HD 5000 and above is slightly newer: 9.00.100.2 for XP or 9.012 for win7/vista,
I didn't check with previous driver revisions

Most important is if you can confirm that we can install newest available, as stated my last official driver was released like more than 2,5 years

If I'm not mistaken, they aren't releasing new drivers for pre-HD5000 series of gpus on a monthly basis anymore, but they are still supporting those series indeed (I think every 3-4 months or something like that).

Well if the driver isn't indeed updated do they change it's revision number anyway ?

I've checked the driver's inf (the xp version but I guess the same it's for vista/7/8).
The release date of the driver is the 16th November 2012.
And the supported hardware IDs are the following:
Note that 95C4 is my mobility 3470! :D So I would say yes, they now support mobility gpus!

Indeed, thank YOU for noticing those drivers! :D
BTW, could you check in device manager the date of your newly installed driver? It should match what I said before. I'd install it and see myself, but I don't have my proud 3470 notebook with me! :)

Yes, it's a 3450. Infact the hardware ID is 95C4, same as my 3470, because they are actually the same chip.
16th november 2012! Wonderful! It works!
