long story short my 4 year old clevo (spec below) was getting slow so i thought a clean install and format would help.
well it has and it hasnt.

firstly after a format and re installing windows 7 all went well. then when i loaded the driver disk it all went downhill from there as the disc just would not run. no matter what i tried and i tried 3 different disc drives.
finally downloaded the drivers again from mysn website but there was one missing so i got that from sager.

all loaded and working fine on the first day.
then this issue started with the windows login using password or fingerprint reader.
1 out of 4 times it will log in fine and then the next 3 times it will get to log in and no matter if i use typed password or fingerprint it goes to logging in screen with the blue windows circle and it just sits there loading. i have to hard turn off and try again.
anyone seen this before and would it be the AuthenTec True Suite software or something else.
    thanks in advance
    DJ

Usually that is the best fix for system.

What driver disk? Where did you get that? Also msn doesn't provide the driver for your system that would come from Sagar.

MSN drivers is asking for trouble. Find all the Sagar drivers from Sagar first and that would require contacting Sagar Support.

This indicates bad install or corrupted Windows system file that was overwritten. Only fix is to reinstall Windows and the Sagar drivers not Windows Drivers that is asking for problem.

thanks for the reply. at work so a bit rushed at moment.

typo. was meant to be disc not disk. the driver disc that came with the computer. windows 7 disc and drivers disc.

MYsn (NOT MSN) is the company in the uk i bought the clevo from and they do have the drivers on their website.

this was what i thought at first but if it was a corrupted install then why does it work perfectly every third or fourth attempt.

Good idea to make windows password disk:

You can create such a disk (on USB removable media or a floppy) within the Windows User Accounts menu by opening the Windows Control Panel, selecting User Accounts, and clicking Create a password reset disk in the left pane.

Since no one is there to see the install process we have no way to know what was happening or going on to know why.

In case it recurs the issue may be the Windows 7 bios. The PnP can reassign resources and this can cause issues either by drivers not able to work with the hardware and/or reinitialization of the hardware. The drives/ keyboard / fingerprint reader etc. may have been having intermittent issues because of this. Once the bios settled down on resources everything is happy with your issues can disappear. Kind of late to the game so this is just a theory to look out for.

    thanks TANWare
bios is one thing ive never touched or bothered to learn about as ive been lucky to never had a issue with any of my clevo laptops and prior to that 3 other laptops.
its still working fine and log in at least 3 times a day and all running fine since.
