Just got a laptop off ebay for my mom cheap, Toshiba A105-S2717. It has XP Pro loaded and has the COA sticker for XP Pro on the laptop. Of course it didn't come with any of the restore software (can't expect too much for $200 I suppose.) I have also have an A105 but it has XP Media Center so I'm assuming that my restore software won't work since I don't have the correct COA on the ebay laptop. Does anyone know where I might get a copy or image of the restore software with XP Pro? When the laptop was wiped and XP reinstalled a bunch of the Toshiba drivers weren't loaded and the express media player isn't there either. The battery indicator lights don't work and XP doesn't recognize that the battery is charging, but the battery does charge and hold a full charge. It currently does not have Toshiba BIOS loaded, not sure if that's going to be a problem or not with the restore software. Ideas? Help? Thanks in advance!

**EDIT** Turns out the battery light issue may have to do with BIOS (per Toshiba's website) and I'm going to have to try to get my money back anyhow, I was typing along and several of they keys fell off! I did download all the drivers from Toshiba, still no internet on that laptop though. I'm not buying a restore disk from Toshiba at $40, plus a new keyboard and possibly a new battery anc charger. Might as well just find a differnt laptop. Not sure what the deal is. I can't find the driver for the touchpad, Synaptics driver site has been down all evening. I only assume the touchpad is a Synaptics becuase my similar model is. Anyway, guess I'll tell Mom she has to spend some money and have a Dell made, unless anyone knows if Toshiba or HP are still making XP machines at all? I've had great luck with my Toshibas, up until this one anyway. Ugh, I've wasted my whole night on this stupid machine! No more used laptops for me.

try contacting Toshiba, they might be willing to give/sell you the recovery discs
