have you checked for virus, upload lsass.exe to https://www.virustotal.com/ to have it checked by over 40 AV programs.

I don't want to mislead anyone but this is what worked for me regarding high lsass.exe i/o problems. I checked out every web page I could find that discussed lsass.exe problems but could not find anything that lead me in the right direction. Finally out of frustration I decided to look for any programs that might be attempting logins on my computer and came up with the HP Customer Participation program under add/delete programs. I decided to remove this program and then monitor my lsass.exe process to determine if there were any further i/o problems. Now, after 1/2 hour of use my lsass.exe process is no longer experiencing high i/o or page faults and the problem seems to be resolved. Even if you don't have the HP Customer Participation program running on your computer it might be an idea to look for any processes that may be attempting a login on your system to update applications or gather information for marketing purposes. I can't believe how well my PC is running now and how little i/o lsass and csrss.exe are generating. This worked for me....
