    making own sounds for vista starup etc

    i was wondering if i were to make some sounds with audio software and save them as wav file,will i beable to use these as sounds for the startup etc

    That should be perfectly doable. Just go into your Control Panel and open up the "Sound" control (make sure you're in classic view), then click on the "sounds" tab. Just find the sound you want to replace and click on "browse" to locate your wav file(s).
