What's the difference between the different SatNav mapping providers, eg Navigon, Navteq, AA, CoPilot... ?
...Alturion, tomtom... all the different companies who provide the mapping for different sat nav systems, which is the best and what is the difference?

The best is usually the cheapest. All the SatNav's usually have their own branding of mapping. Many people nowadays take the sensible option and buy a 'Pocket PC', which is basically a small computer, handheld PDA, but it MUST have a SatNav arial on it. Usually these cost £120-200. This means when you are finished with it, you don't have to leave it out, it will fit in your pocket. If you don't like one type of mapping, you can always download another type, untill you find one you like. The only differences between them are the way the maps look.
