For some reason, Windows Media Center messes up on me alot.

For some reason, the video goes all black whenever i switch between maximized and windowed mode. Or, when I'm watching tv and i change the channel.

Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, WinAmp, etc all have no such problems. The problem seems to be exclusive to WMCenter. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm thinking it might be my vid.card drivers. I'm pretty sure i have the latest drivers. i'll downgrade and see if that helps. Or upgrade if i infact don't have the latest version...

Check your DVD program, media center uses a third party codec that might be giving you problems. There is a program from MS that checks to make sure that the DVD decoder works with WinXP MCE

stowman2 is right for XP MCE, but since the OP appears to be running Vista, MCE should be using the included decoder.

But yeah, updating your graphics drivers will likely fix the problem. Nvidia Vista graphics drivers still have a long wat to go, but the latest 158.18 drivers fix many of the problems people have been having. You can grab them along with a modded .inf file from www.laptopvideo2go.com .

I actually tried to go to laptopvideo2go, since that was where i got my previous drivers... but it seems like their site is ... not fully operational. i'll check back on them later, i guess.

And if the problem were with the graphics card, wouldn't all my media programs be messed up, instead of just one? Yet, if it were the MS decoder, wouldn't Windows Media Player be messed up also? Seems like the problem is just with Media Center, for some reason. I'll keep checking up on laptopvideo2go, when their site is fully operational, i'll see what i can find.
