    I have a actiontec dslmodem/router.

verizon sent me one to replace my westell 327W

with it my speed is slower.

with my westell 327W, on the 192.168.1.1 page, my speed was shown as 3360 download and 864 upload

with that router i got a speakeasy speedtest speed of 2810kbps down and 712kbps up

    but with the action tec

it shows my speed as 3360/800 (64k less than the westell)

and i get a speakeasy speedtest of 2589 kbps down and 606kbps up

another thing is that the Transmit Power (Downstream/Upstream): of the action tec is half of that of the westell

what settings can i change to get my speed back. i need 3360/864 for my actiontec. is there a way for me to customize the power of it. the router is telnet able.

also is there a way to use the actiontec as a router. if i connect it to another modem, it doesnt work right and the dsl light keeps blinking. on my westell it allowed me to choose between a dslatm port and a ethernet port 1

why isint the actiontec using the full power or speed for the dsl connection.
