    hi guys, I just purchased laptop sony vaio windows 7, and I would like to update my windows. unfortunately, I do not much know about computer.

    do you guys have any advice, what are the most important softwares that I need to update for a new laptop?

    Your best option is to click on "Windows Update" in the start menu. Then select change settings. Under the heading Important Updates select Install Updates Automatically (Recommend), then click on OK. You can also instruct Windows 7 to install recommended updates as well. There's an option for that on the main page.

    Now Windows 7 will install all important updates automatically.
