    mouse right click drop down menu..

    out of the blue my mouse right-click drop-down menu is not functioning anymore, even after restarting the comp. although the laptop integral mouse pad working all fine with right left click and drop down menus..

    any suggestions ?

    In Control Panel, Select Mouse. If you have the manufacturer software installed for your mouse you should have a "button" tab which will allow you to select what you want your 'right click' button to do. It should be set to "context menu/alternate select" or something similar.

    If not the above, try another mouse to make sure your mouse hasn't become defective before proceeding. If your mouse started malfunctioning just recently, maybe after a software install or microsoft update, you could try to perform a system restore to a time when the mouse was functioning properly.

    If the right-click is working on the trackpad, but not on a USB/external mouse, most likely scenario is that the switch in the mouse broke. Can you test a different USB mouse just to verify it's your specific mouse, and not all USB mice? Borrow one from a friend for 10 minutes?

    My guess too - broken mouse.

    Especially if it happened out of nowhere.
