moving emails from windows mail to outlook 2003

Hey, I have a Gateway 7811FX thats a few months old. I setup my email on the windows mail program included in Vista, but now I installed Office 2003 and want to use Outlook 2003 instead of Windows Mail.

So far I haven't figured out anway to do this. Using Export on Windows Mail brings up the error:
"The Export could not be performed. An error occurred while initializing MAPI. "

I'm able to send messages from windows mail to myself and open them up in Outlook, but then the dates and sender name are all out of whack. I have about 150 messages I want to move over. Ive spent hours googling and using windows help online to no avail. any ideas for me on this one?

 

Instead of trying to export from Mail, have you tried "importing" in Outlook?

try installing Windows Live Mail, it will ask to import from WM, then export to Outlook.

 

hey thanks for the help. installed Windows Live Mail, imported from Windows Mail automatically, then exported to Outlook 2003 perfectly.
