unless it is stating otherwise, m$ eula is ONE licence ONE PC
cheers ... -
I dont know about 2007, but with office xp I installed it on many computers....only because the software costs so dang much, but I will always atleast buy it
-
student and teacher edition is the only one that allows you to install on more than one machine
-
okay thank=)

As much as Office costs (more than Windows) they should allow several installs, but you do have a choise, Open Office. You can install this on every computer you trip on. But I have used OO and I think MS is way better. Luckily my employer provides me with a license. GL

Someone told me that legally you can install any edition of Microsoft Office on 1 desktop computer and 1 laptop computer. In the likely case its like you're installing it on both your personal desktop and personal laptop.

>>Someone told me that legally you can install any edition of Microsoft Office on 1 desktop computer and 1 laptop computer.<<
This certainly was true in the 2003-06 versions. It was clearly stated in the EULA. -
oO i have microsoft office 2003 or something and it let me install on multiple computers...never gave me any problems. did u do something bad?

I checked every version of Office since office 97 and each version after office 97 clearly states you can only install it on one device only except for the Student and Teach editions.
I read each one again just in case my memory was faulty.
You seemed pretty certain, though, so I downloaded the EULAs from Microsoft and lo and behold we are both right
I have OEM versions of office, and they permit only one install (except for Student/Teacher)
The Retail versions of these same products still allow two installs--one on the desktop and one on a portable device.
So, a RETAIL version can be installed on one desktop and one laptop; an OEM version cannot.
I am not sure if this applies to the original poster's issue, but there you have it -
As a summary of posts provided elsewhere in the thread...
OEM = One PC
Retail = One desktop, one mobile
Student/Teacher = Three of any
End of summary, please don't give me any credit...I stole the info
If you are installing a single purchased copy, you break the EULA/law. -
oh, yeah, sure...come along after I do all the work
