    keeps using 50 cpu for no reason making my whole computer hang.

    Any ideas?

    Its a beta. Just roll it back to previous version and report those issues to MSN. Some of the worst nightmares for software have always been linked to MS in my experience. The worse being the final version IE4 SE CD MS send me back in 97 I believe. It was not a final version by any means and was a re format hell disc if I ever saw one. :)

    Can't confirm on my Vista Business. What is your OS? Can you review your Processes (in task manager) and see which one is spiking up the cpu?

    im using windows live messenger beta 2009, i have not faced the problem like 50% cpu utilization. i have been using live beta 2009 from few months, never happened sumthing like that.

    I'm using vista home premium i'll try and get a screenshot of it next time. Task manager confirms 50% usage from msn messenger.

    I tried using 8.5 but that wouldn't install so now im stuck with a resource hog of a beta.
