    my laptop freezing when i am on the net

    my laptop is constantly freezing when i am on the net especially when am downloading something it just freezes then i have to power off and then turn it on again. it often happens when i am using internet download manager.this is causing me re download the same files over and over again.i even formatted my harddrive and installed a new windows but still the same problem. pls help me
    am using using windows 8 64 bit

    at the beginning update wi-fi and ethernet drivers. does it freeze if you choose different type (those 2 types i told)?
    check ram with 5 hours of memtest86+.

    Sounds like the problem is IDM and not something of the O/S. Maybe you should try FDM and see if the problem doesn't persist? So what site are you trying to download to see if other can recreate the problem if it should show up on their Windows 8 system and others on Windows 7 system can compare to see what is happening?
