I have Windows 7. Following my last month laptop crash, I decided not to upload anything again to "my pictures","my videos" and "my music" because...it clogs my C: drive and it is less likely you will ever be able to recover that stuff if your laptop stops booting. So, I now have folders in my D" drive that are named just alike. I would like to have a quick access to to them just like the original folders in my C" drive. How can I add those folders here...see the picture----->

    Thanks!

Note how the library, Favorites, and Computer groups in the left side pane are expandable/collapsible. Click on the Libraries group icon in the left pane, then right click and select New->Library. That will add a new library sub-group. Unfortunately you cannot add any new folders per say under the Computer group. That is only for items that show up under My Computer.

To add to what radji said, you can set folder options to "Show All Folders" that will give you the User Profile folders "Your Account Folder", i.e., Appdata, Documents, Pictures, Music etc for the logged in account. Then you can add more folders to the account.

If you're adventurous, move the User Profiles directories to another partition or drive: User Profiles - Create and Move During Windows 7 Installation - Windows 7 Help Forums

I just came across this last night. Depending on the Show All Folders settings you can change that behavior: User Folder - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane - Windows 7 Help Forums

In my opinion, the easiest way would be to set the new folders in your libraries. Right click on a library, select properties and from there, you can include/exclude folders. You can remove the C:\Username\My Pictures folder and add D:\Pictures to it. You can even keep both folders in the library and set the D:\Pictures as the save location. Every time you save a enw picture to your library it will be added to the location on D:\, the same goes for music you rip, documents you save, etc. once your libraries are set.

You can look at this article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows7/include-folders-in-a-library for more detailed information.

One other thing, if you want to keep everything in one visible space then go to the "D" partition and click on your data folder while selected scroll up to favorites and don't select but right click and choose add to favorites - that link that gets placed there will always get where you want to go.

Thanks! I just found out that...you can go to a folder(as an example my D: drive "my pictures" folder) then, right click on it and then click on "include in library". Finally, you click on "create new library" and it will be right there. Now, I click on "my pictures" and all the pictures I have in my D: drive "my pictures" folder are all right there...exactly what I wanted. The only other step left to do was to delete my C: drive "my pictures","my videos" and "my music" folders and that was it. Thanks!
