You should have been able to partition your hard drive during the reinstall. Did you select 20GB for drive C:\ but forget to allocate the rest of the space to D:\?

Anyways, you can try using gparted to allocate the unused space to drive D:\ or to extend drive C:\.

    Try using gparted then.

www.blackviper.com has many services guides that explain what each one does and gives "safe" lists of which ones to disable.

    haha indeed :D

And yes, the NBR Vista tweaks guide is great. If you haven't checked it out yet, I recommend you do so now. :)

It sounds like you may have not let the restore finish. I had this same exact problem with my HP. The second time I restore, I never touched the computer. It took for ever, but it cleared up the 20GB issue.

system restore? i just did a clean install..so wouldn't it not give me any restore points to before i did this?

also i am using my killdisk program to format those 3 partitions it created. one was the Primary Uknown(the one mentioned in the first post)in the partition information on killdisk it says Active:YES Primary: YES
and then i have another one that says Unallocated that ended up having like 7 gigs in it and that one says Active: NO Primary:YES and then i have another Primary Unknown the one with the 87.78 gigs..(the ones i lost) and it says Active:NO Is Primary:YES...how do i get these to be active again? or is this something i won't have to worry about
