I just got my asus g1s b1 and turned it on , after a few minutes windows set window came on. It is in spanish. how do i put it to english?

there was a small box with laguage options up at the right hand side of the screen but changing the language on that did nothing.

Windows Vista Ultimate can change its language. Don't know how, but you can download packs for it with Windows Update.

Otherwise complain where you bought the laptop. Its up to them to give you the right version of Windows in your language.

you better check if your laptop was used or not,
it may be a returned product.

new egg had me call asus and they told me i was sold a south american version of the lap top. I could not beleive it. What made it worse was that asus said that they could not fix it. to send it back to new egg. I was so crushed ( after being so happy to finally get a lap top )that i had to send it back.
I wish i had a copy of a OS that i could have installed ... bleh

Depending on which Vista you have, you can install the different languages by going to START > CONTROL PANEL > REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE OPTIONS

Go to the LANGUAGES tab, and select INSTALL/UNINSTALL languages

Professional and Ultimate have language packs--not sure about Home versions

didn't think so, but without a Home version, I didn't want to commit

The rationale, I believe, is that business users sometimes need to switch language due to travel to other countries and the need to share computers with those they travel to....ultimate gets it because, well, it's ultimate

Home premium does not allow for this.
