How come there is now DreamScene in Win 7 Ultimate RTM edition?
I am fully activated but still no dreamscene thorugh windows update.
I heard they removed it in favour or the desktop slideshow which I never figured out........
what the heck is that?
-
Microsoft has never released a statement as to why they removed Dreamscene. Desktop Slideshow is just a looping background of whatever wallpapers you want to show. You can still use Dreamscene if you follow a guide like this: http://windows7center.com/tutorials/how-to-enable-dreamscene-in-windows-7/

I guess it's extremely important to keep a change that's been implemented since beta at the top of the board.
-
No no no..., I was responding to deskscape with bump top as a joke.
-
cheers ... -
i knew that one was coming... i would say the same thing to be honest, anyway still couldnt be screwed, i never knew about it so the less i know the less it will effect me not having it. (im asuming by what you guys have said that its not going to be in win 7?)
-
Truth be told, I'm kinda glad DreamScape is replaced by Desktop Slideshow. It's a lot more subtle...and I'm a lot more productive when I'm not being hypnotized by a constantly moving desktop. O_O

what so is it a video desktop?????
damn i knew i shoul never had checked this thread again im now really peeved we arnt getting it, that would be awesome.....
but as tehsuigi said it would be crazy and hard to bear... -

-

i thought dreamscenes are supposedly gpu intensive. My old vista before keeps eating the damn cpu's always @ 100% usage. Useless.
-
garbage imo.. uses way to many resources for what it does imo...
-
It was an interesting feature but remember that we live in an era of energy efficiency. One of the problems with Vista was its tendency to constantly run random fluff in the background, preventing systems from entering lower power states. Dreamscene was this sort of thing taken to its logical conclusion - a feature that would guarantee constant load even on an i7.
I'm not surprised it's gone. -
no DreamScene in 7?
