    no usb boot on a g51j ?

    hey there i try install a fresh windows 7 on a G51j laptop.

    i7 720 and a 260mgtx with 2 hdd

    when i check the bios the laptop give me no option in the bios for boot on a usb stick?

    its a 2008 laptop should got this option no?

    and the bios show me a G60JAS208 bios version from the asus website?

    Help me i cant do nothing my brother lose is original cd classic no?

    If all you need to do is reinstall Windows, you can just grab the ISO and burn it to a DVD instead of a flash drive. Have you tried booting from USB, even my N50 can boot from USB when there is a bootable drive in it. There might not be a bios setting, so plug the bootable USB and press ESC during post.

    Double check your USB drive or use a different one, if you have another. Insert it before booting, then boot it into BIOS. Go to your Boot options, and look for the USB drive; if "USB <volume label> is not listed (where "volume label" is the name of your drive), then let us know what your options are. Some BIOS only give you the option of HD0, HD1, etc., in which case, you would need to rearrange those until it booted from your USB drive.
