I have windows vista on one of machines and for some reason every once and awhile my taskbar disappears .the whole bar basically is gone. all that shows is the windows flag icon in the corner (start menu). so if you minimize a window it vanishes and the only way you can activate the window again is by alt tabbing.

the taskbar is not on autohide. i dont know whats causing this. bug? graphics driver?

Did you try locking the taskbar?

my taskbar is locked by default. i dont know if exploror is crashing. it happens at random. like ill look down to see what time it is and the clock will be gone. then you pretty much notice none of the windows are showing up on the taskbar. its happened 3 times now. I was hoping it was my graphics driver or something. but if exploror is crashing that sucks because then its a stability isue.
