I recently bought a dvd through my company that buys M$ products and got the office 2010 plus with sp1 disk but did some searching and found it to be the x86 version. I looked at mydigitalife download but wasn't able to locate of find a download link that would corresponds to office 2010x64 plus with sp1 location? Does it exits and where?

Any actual, good, real-life reason why x86 version isn't enough?

If I remember correctly x86 is the recommended version to be used in real life business/work/school. For fun or special cases, x64 is okay.

Reason I asked is that digital life has windows 7 download for x86 and x64 but I don't recall seeing any for office 2010 with sp1 x86 and or x64 so asking if any such links exists??? I like to use x64 cause my O/S windows7 is x64 as well and I just like to keep software matching to my O/S if all possible.

There really isn't any reason to choose x64 over x86 when it comes to Microsoft Office, unless you have a spreadsheet that requires 4GB+ of RAM when you open it.

Or you do large data sets in your Pivot Tables....32bit Office chokes when trying to do any thing that has large data sets....

That about sums it up, there is no reason to go for 64-bit office yet and also if i'm not mistaken, 32-bit is still more stable than 64-bit 2010. I remember when i upgraded to 2010 i had other reasons not to get the 64-bit ver other than that i didn't really need it.

True, but there isn't really a reason why one can't just install it and use it? I have it installed on all my W7x64 laptop and desktop and didn't have problems using it? And those are SP1 as well. I do have the office 2010x86 Sp1 that I got through where I work but thought heck if they have the office 2010x86sp1 already why don't they have the 2010x64sp1 as well in ISO format to download and use for registered users. That is what I was trying to find out if they had such a link like for Windows7 from mydigitallife download site.

I'm pretty sure they have the 64-bit ver. too. I remember that when i got my 2 2010 licenses through a student deal, i had the choice between the two.

I install the 64-bit version of Office on all of my machines. I do find it annoying when you go to install it from the CD and it wants to default to installing the 32-bit version. I have a 64-bit OS so I want to use the 64-bit version so now I just copy the 64-bit version onto a flash drive but I too would like to have a 64-bit version slip-streamed.

When I got Office 2010 from TechNet the ISO had both the 32 and 64 bit versions. But looking again at TechNet I see they have all three versions - 32, 64 and 32+64.
