I am sorry to tell you it looks very much like a virus mate! Run a virus scanner and scan your drives right away. I suggest posting this on the Windows 7 forum from technet!
-
What makes you think this is a virus? The warning statement? If that's the case, it is just a message to be careful and not to open the files if a virus is suspected.
-
Well, it looks like there was an unexpected shutdown. Restart the computer and see if it happens again.
-
it didnt happen again but sure gets me kinda of worried any idea what might of caused it
-
Driver failure, hardware problem, issue coming out of sleep - it could anything.
-
dam suks what i do remeber during the blue screen it told me
Unequal balance dont knoe what it means dough couldnt catch the rest it was to fast..... curse me and my slow hamster reflexes ...... -
You can look at the files generated by the error to see if they contain any more information.
-
There is no indication that a virus caused this.
You should at least upgrade to Vista SP2.
You can also look through the minidumps generated.

Sir, he has Windows 7 not Vista! Likely not from the official release also! I really suspect it is a virus mate! Better run that virus scanner anyway to be on the safe side!
-
Please explain why you suspect a virus.
-
I suggest you re-read the version number in his screenshot, since you seem to be misinformed. While you're at it, you might notice that he already has a virus scanner installed and running in the system tray.
-
6.0.6001 = Vista pre SP2, for those of you wondering...
-
alright just to clarify this im running windows vista 64 bit SP1....i did various scans and nothing pops up
-
I highly doubt it's a virus. Like I said earlier, probably just a minor hiccup. I wouldn't worry too much unless it happens again.
-
and it seems that u are very right i surely doubt its a virus
-
I've seen your posts popping up in a number of threads recently, and you always have the same response - it's a virus - without any reason to support that conclusion. With all due respect, you're beginning to resemble spam.
-
Have you checked in the event logs to see if anything else got logged in there that might help shed some light on what caused the crash?
Odds are, there was a driver that got corrupted/bad data from something, and caused the crash (probably a video-related driver since this happened when you closed the lid, although it could also have been a power-management-related driver as well).
Were you running on battery or running on the A/C adapter at the time? -
running on battery the battery was at 10 percent....
-
i was wondering the same thing about that oh well i dont have enough power like u all mighty Shyster1
-
Yup. How's that BSOD event treating you?
-
well to tell u the truth it hasn't happen again so thats good i guess.....ive had 2 BSOD with this lappy one happend cuz i cleaned the thermal paste to reapply new paste and i didnt notice a piece of metal got stuck between the heatsink and gpu so my lappy started getting lines accross the screen i was just pissing my pants so just removed the piece of metal and everything went back to normal......i was so scared that i even formatted my harddrive hoping it was just a graphic driver issue so u learn from your mistakes...
-
That'll do it, alright. Glad the GPU doesn't appear to have suffered permanent damage.
When I looked at the image file you'd attached, I noticed that the stop code (what's labelled as the "BCCode" in that image) is 0x0A (the "a" in the image is basically a very terse way of writing the hex value 0x0A). Those stop codes usually relate to some driver that tried to access memory it didn't have permission to access, or the like. There's a basic description of the 0x0A stop code here, along with some links to further study/diagnostic resources, just in case you're interested, or if it happens again. -
thanks this will come in handy .....thanks for taking the time in finding the webpage....+REP

No worries - I originally came across it when I was getting a whole spate of BSODs on the old VAIO - turns out the driver for the netgear wireless adapter (the internal died about 2 years ago) doesn't play nice with some of the other stuff at startup, and will occasionally BSOD at boot.
After that, I kept the link around 'cause it had a lot of good info on it. Sometimes it's a good thing to be a packrat!
-
lol packrat true that...... but thanks for the help and support
ok quick help after BSOD
