hello. I was using HiJackThis to sweep for bugware on my laptop, and I evidently DIDN"T save the log file that time!

At any rate, i seem to have deleted some entries for a couple status icons in the taskbar.
the touchpad icon is gone, but i think i can easily restore that with the driver reinstall.
the problem is I no longer have an icon for my battery indicator, so i have no idea when it's going to die. I haven't been able to find any way to restore it. Task bar properties has it grayed out. device manager shows the battery, and i uninstalled it let it reinstall. nada. i tried add/remove programs, windows options, but in vista you can't select many components to uninstall and reinstall, and power management isn't one of them.
the only thing i can think of is if someone would be willing to run hijackthis on an hp laptop and send me the log file, and do a line by line checkoff till i find the reg entry i blew by accident.
    any other suggestions welcome.

Try System Restore to go back before you did this.

Yep, System Restore should have a checkpoint that's recent.
