    I need help in closing an open dialog box.I have a HP Pavillion dv6000 and windows xp.

    Where's the open dialog box from?
    Why/How does it not close?

    If worst comes to, then just restart your computer.

    Thanks for responding.When i receive a mail attachment and try to open it,microsoft word document tries to help,but a message "The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open.Click OK,and then close open dialog boxes to continue"
    I've tried this and get no where.
    It's now 0835 here.

    Sounds like you might want to be doing an A/V-malware scan right about now - that sounds a bit like the sort of activity a virus might get up to.
