Quick question, why doesn't IE open pdf (either in a IE window, or in adobe acrobat window), when i press on a pdf file. I have to download the file manually (right click, save target), but being the slob i am, my desktop fills up quickly. I just wan't it to open, or ask me if I wan't to download...

do you have the acrobat reader installed ?
if so, check for a setting/plugin that functions with IE. -
found it:
launch adobe reader > edit > preferences > internet > "Display PDF in browser"
this is for version Adobe Reader 7.0 -
I have adobe acrobat prof. But I found the setting. Thanks.

since i have firefox...i got the extension that gives me an option for what i want the .pdf to do when i clik on it from the internet...either open in a new tab....new window...or download it..or cancel...pretty nice

i saw that extension. it seems a little redundant when you have those options in the adobe reader and also the 'in-browser-reader' that launches when you open the pdf in FF. i like to run lean 'n' mean. less extensions = better performance.
opening pdf from web??
