    os/ for my laptop

    i have a problem im on my desktop at the moment on my laptop when i click computer it shows the c :drive and d:drive (data) which one has the os for vista the c/d drive which one do i copy to make restore discs im not bothered about loosing anything as theres not much on there ive also tried to burn back-up discs but get a problem on 2nd dvd spits it out the 1st is fine please help as im baffled by wat to do if i8 get a bad virus or something i wont be able to restore to factory defaults ...........................
    If any of you no wat the name is in my files i no its called o/s but wat to actually look for i could find this and just copy that also last thing could i copy files i need as an image (iso) like microsoft 2007 for instance or any programme for that matter and they would still be useable thanks :(

    What is your comp brand/model?

    Most of the current notebooks come with a create restoration disk utility. You just have to follow the instruction and it will back up the needed information and create the recovery disks for you to restore the comp at factory settings when you later need.

    As far as extracting the current apps and try to reverse engineering it into an installation disk, I don't believe that it is worth it (next to impossible).
