The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Good morning everyone,
I am still learning, and need some help again. For the past 2 nights when I shut my new laptop (pavilion 6000t) down,a message pops up saying,"other people are logged on to this computer,if you shut it down, they will lose data." I shut it down. Can any of you explain this?Is this a normal pop-up?I have a router, and I installed Zone alarm. Thanks in advance.

If you are using a wireless network, check out the posts Here.

If you use the "Switch User" feature, instead of users logging off, you would also get this message. I know folks who use Switch User to go between an Admin account and a User account, and this happens.
