    hi all

i just installed the 32-bit beta version of office 2010 but when it installed it did not unisntall the old office 07, including my outlook 07 which was synced to my smartphone(omnia). i then uninstalled office 07 and tried to sync outlook 2010 to my smartphone via windows mobile device center.
i established a new partnership but i was given a message that my laptop did not have a default email client.
i then opened outlook 2010 and went to file>options> and checked make outlook your default client for email, calendar, contacts. also there is a button here where you can associate outlook to different programs like WMDC but strangely nothing appears on this list.
i searched the web and i saw that 64-bit office 2010 has difficulty syncing with WMDC, however my office is the 32-bit version. and according to the forums i saw the 32-bit version should work. i then uninstalled and reinstalled office 2010 but still with the outlook synicng problem.
ive posted queries in those forums with no luck so far, and i was wondering if anyone here could help me out....

Its possible that your software doesn't support 2010.

I know this is true for BlackBerry Software - yes, in some cases people have managed to find a way round it by overwriting the 07 installation, but else its unsupported... (at the moment)

Well, the BlackBerry Software is specifically set to only work with versions x y z of Office - I wouldn't be surprised if its the same for Windows Mobile.

    Have you Googled it.

hmm i wonder if you need to upgrade to Office 2010 on your smartphone. I have the Omnia as well, but only sync for music, I use MyPhone for appointment sync, etc...

Get the upgrade from Windows Mobile Marketplace:

i doubt if installing mobile office 2010 would do the trick. aslo im kinda reluctant to try since i do use mobile office and the 2010 version is still quite buggy.
im thinking it has more to do with office 2010 in my notebook...
