    Hi.

I wasn't sure which forum to post this in but okay here goes.

I have a dynex tv that can also act as an external monitor. It has vga, component, and composite.

What I'm trying to do is to output video and audio to my dynex tv. I can manage to do the video (external monitor) just by using the vga cable.

However, when I use a composite to headphone jack cable (the red and white to headphone jack), no audio comes through the tv speakers. The cable is not broken cause i tried another cable. I tried all the different inputs on the tv (vga, tv, hdmi, component, composite, etc.) but none worked.

Is there some configuration settings I'm missing?

    Thanks.

Have you tested the cable on other devices? Is the volume raised to the maximum on the laptop?

You should see a port on your TV that looks like a headphone jack next to the VGA input. That is the PC audio input. You need to get a cable with a headphone jack on both ends.

Have you read your TV manual? There are usually instructions on how to connect various components to the TV. If your TV has the ability to receive audio and VGA, the manual will tell you how to set everything up.

    Hey thanks everyone

You guys were right. I guess my tv doesn't support the composite cable way. I need to use the headphone jack to headphone jack cable.

^ u can use headphone jack cable (3.5mm stereo) to RCA cable for outputting audio from your laptop..costs like $5.

also remember to enable audio 'line in' on your TV settings..because by default its off to reduce any interference.

can u post pics of your monitors inputs?..i think i cud help u better that way.
