I know a number of laptops now support being able to play DVDs and music without booting into windows. My toshibas, for instance, could certainly do the music playback. I've ordered a Vaio FE11H and I'm wondering if MCE supports this?

If not, is it possible to dual boot say, a cut down linux OS that will do the same thing? Plus, is it possible to get rid of some of the MCE features- in the same way that you can trim win xp through the add/remove progs dialog?
