hi guys, i need to turn to you yet again.
just been getting to know my new dell 6400, great so far.

i have transfered over some of my home digital movies from my old laptop but they will not play,
when media player comes on i can hear the sound but no picture. along the bottom it says aquiring codec then codec aquired but still no picture, any ideas!
these video clips are from and older camera i have , my newer camera seems to work ok if i tell it to open using w/media player.

p.s they are not playing on my old laptop either ,i get a frozen picture of the beginning of the clip and no sound.

You don’t have the proper video codec. Try the K-Lite codec pack, it has most popular codecs. Or the Combined Community Codec (CCC) Pack

You can also google for your camera model to see if you can find the exact codec.
