    power plan stuck on "high performance"

    hi everyone
    i have a problem with the power plan in my windows 7, it is stuck to "hight performance" i can change it to balanced or power saver, but it will immediately return back it self to high performance :( , i don't know what to do so pleas can you help me with this issue :confused:

    Do you have any other software on your machine that controls power options such as ASUS power-4-gear, if so remove them.
    It would also help to know the manufacturer and model of your notebook.
    Also you could test by creating a new user account (from control panel) and login with it to see if the issue persists.

    JOSEA beat me to it! If you don't have another piece of software taking priority over your power plan in lieu of Windows power management, then try making a new Windows account and see if you can save the changes in the new account.

    hello, thank you for your answer, i have an ASUS laptop, but i have no power-4-gear, then i installed it to see if the problem will be solved but it is always here :(
    i will try to create a new account and see, i'll tel you the result.

    i have uninstalled the power-4-gear, and creat a new user, the problem is not here in the new account !!
    what have i to do now ? i'm the administrator .

    i have a new problem: when i puch the G key a laptop picutre with LCD writen shows up in the center of the screen and i have no way to write g, i haven't this yesterday ! :(
    what is hapening with my laptop :( (the problem is here even with the new account)

    i have done a frensh windows installation, all the problem solved, except for the G key, whan i install the hot keys driver the G key stop working !!!
    i will post a new thread on the ASUS forum since it is an ASUS software issue, thank you for helping
