    hi guys.
    it seems to be problem week for me....anyways, something wierd is going on in windows Xp with the mouse. whenever i click on something and then another thing, and then anotherthing, it highlights all of them (selects them, kinda like when you hold down Ctrl to select multiple options) its really annyoing.........how do i fix it?

    Have you got your sticky keys enabled by chance? Maybe your Ctrl or Shift key is stuck? If you are certain it's a mouse problem (you tried a different mouse and it was fine) try installing the latest Synaptics Touchpad drivers (if it is a touchpad giving you problems) or the appropriate drivers for your mouse.

    it was a problem with my external mouse....the touch pad works fine, so do other mice

    You could try actually holding down the ctrl key and clicking and selecting a few icons, and then click somewhere on the desktop. See if that helps. Otherwise, check battery, or the USB connection (or even the PS/2 connection if that is the case). And if it's an old mouse, might as well replace it ;)
