im using a sandisk 4gig usb, and there is no problem installing the w7 dvd onto the usb but the w7 installation needs a driver for my usb to continue, how do i go about slipstreaming a usb driver to the installation and where do i get one?

it shouldn't need one. How did you prep the USB drive?

i used the w7 usb burner utility - its also pretty odd, i searched online and the usb i own (sandisk cruzer blade 4gb) doesn't even seem to have a downloadable driver

The "Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool" for making a USB from an ISO download of Windows 7 can be found here Microsoft Store: Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool Help and the instructions for downloading a Windows 7 ISO can be found at the bottom of the first post in this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html
If you want to make a bootable USB from your Windows 7 disk there are many ways to accomplish the task with a proven method I posted before (I have used it on my Sandisk drive) as follows:
1. Download the trial version of Ultra-ISO from here: BIN to ISO converter, ISO CD image editor and creator - Ultraiso Download Page and install it.
2. Put Windows 7 disk in the Optical Disk Drive.
3. Install your USB flash drive (with enough capacity to hold the data on your disk i.e. 4GB) into a USB port.
4. Perform a Quick format on the USB drive from My Computer.
5. Open Ultra-ISO > File > Open CD/DVD (your Windows 7 Disk)
6. Select the Bootable tab > Write Disk Image.
7. Select your USB drive where it says Disk Drive:
8. Write Method USB-HDD+
9. Click on Write Click on Close when finished.
10. Exit Ultra-ISO
11. The Bootable USB has been created, you are finished.
Make sure your boot sequence in bios is set to boot from the USB device first.
