i have an acer 5920 and just installed an expresscard with si3132 chip. by mistake i have installed the raid drivers. now when i try to install the esata controller drivers (because i have bought an external esata drive) it automatically loads the raid drivers whenever i uninstall the raid controller in device manager (XP). i have deleted drivers listed in the raid drivers (listed as in system32/drivers) hoping it wouldnt load but that doesnt help. when i disable the device used by the raid device, the controller device cant start.

is there any way i can stop the raid driver loading after uninstalling it (when booting it goes into 'found new hardware' wizard and automatically loads/or tries to load them), or delete the raid driver totally?

See if you can restore the comp to before you installed the "wrong" drivers, using system restore. If not, you might consider a re-install of XP.

    cheers ...
