I'm about to get a new lenovo t61, and I'm torn on the screen to select, since my only choices are wxga or wsxga+, which is a big jump. It's been suggested that one possible solution is to use Vista's ability to change the dpi settings to make everything appear larger, but I've heard that capability can be problematic. Has anyone used it? Any problems? Will it allow me to view my wsxga+ screen as if it were a wxga+?

Get the higher res screen, the Vista DPI option is incredibly powerful. You shouldn't have any problems seeing everything if you adjust it to your liking.

No, its not problematic. I have a widescreen 1920x1200 and I have increased the DPI one notch higher (I think default is 96 but I now have it at 120 and there is still the option of increasing it more, which I have tried and its really good). So no problems or anything.. its really good.
