When accessing a website I often desire to open an attached pdf link and recently my Studio laptop gives me a message that it can not be opened. It trys to open a couple of times and then closes out the site. What do you suggest to do to correct this probem?

try a different browser. uninstall and reinstall adobe reader. download the pdf temporarily to view it, then delete it. that's three suggestions/workarounds.

I'll second Foxit - been using it for quite some time now.

I've had this issue before and re-installing Adobe Reader fixed my problems. Never tried Foxit though.

Tried saving the file and then opening up later? Was this only for this one site or with many other sites?

    cheers ...

FoxIt does have updates just like Adobe just that the user must turn off the auto update or update reminders. It's not that hard to do they just have to look for it. As for stability I have Acrobat Pro X and it works just fine either the computer/laptop has to much memory program running causing instability or the pdf from the site is poorly created that it causes the pdf program to use so much memory that it basically crashes the pdf program trying to open it. Since we don't know what pdf program rwoody66 uses to open pdf file anything is a guess at this point. Also since rwoody66 includes no site where the problem exists no one here can say for sure if it is their computer/software the cause of the problem or the site is the cause of the problem??? So they need to give more details to begin to diagnosis where the problem lies. But from their description of the problem it sounds more like a site problem with a bad pdf then the pdf program problem....????
