For a time now, my computer has been having problems reading downloaded software, i.e. Adobe flash player, limewire, etc. While or during the download process, a window pops up and tells me that the program file is unreadable. I'm currently running with Vista. If this is a Vista issue or my computer, i don't know which.
Any insights? Thanks.

Have you try runing Memorey Checker
also are you useing any download manger? -
or you have faulty Internet connection , What kind of Internet Connection you have ?
-
-
hmm Then just run
Code:sfc /scannow
-
What does that function do?
Here is what the pop up window reads:
-
the above command command will check for any corrupt system files in your system and replace if needed .
Try a difference source to download the Flash Player like Download.com , Filehippo.com and so on
also use a Download Manager like Download Them All ( Firefox Plugin ) , Orbit .... -
I have done all you recommended and still no success. I read the other day that a NCRC problem may also be caused by file I previously loaded. The downloaded file is supposedly interfering with the NCRC. Possibility?
-
NCRC is nothing but No Cyclic Redundancy Check or simple a error correction mechanisms which is used to check the integrity of the file .
thats what i said use a third party download manager or clear your temp internet folder and see -
I'm assuming that NCRC is a built in tool that is uninstallable yes?
-
its just a error checking routine built into the package
-
Ah. I appreciate all the help your providing, but the thing just wont read. Any other angles to attack this problem?
-
Yeah, now I have a whole new problem. Before I was able to download programs to my computer, but simply not open them. Now my computer won't even try saving the files. It says the files are unreadable.
-
hmm that's odd
, Download this Download Manager and download the same file using the download manager and see if its opening properly
